Dan Hodgson is a seasoned M&A advisor with more than 20 years of experience in sell-side M&A, business valuation, and strategic advisory. He has completed over $1 billion in transactions across a range of industries and is known for delivering institutional-grade process and results to the lower middle market.

Prior to founding Hodgson Advisory Group, Dan was Managing Director and Co-Head of the M&A Group at Craig-Hallum Capital Group, a national lower middle market investment bank. Today, he works exclusively with privately held businesses that are often too large and complex for business brokers but fall below the mandate threshold of most institutional investment banks.

Dan specializes in advising founder-, family-, and entrepreneur-owned companies—typically with $1–3 million in EBITDA, and selectively in the $500K–$5 million range. He leads every engagement personally and runs disciplined, full-market processes that create competitive tension, attract qualified strategic and financial buyers, and deliver market-tested outcomes owners can move forward with confidently.

Industry expertise includes industrial products and services, business services, healthcare, software and technology, distribution and logistics, and consumer, franchise, and retail.
