Calhoun Companies, the leading business brokerage firm in the Midwest, was recently recognized as a founding member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Minnesota and North Dakota’s Century Club. Though the official inaugural award was delivered at the BBB’s Integrity Awards ceremony, earlier this year, the Century Club honors are tied to the 100 year anniversary of the BBB in 2012.

The Minnesota and North Dakota BBB is the very first Better Business Bureau, which began back in 1912 by civic-minded business leaders who banded together to promote truth in advertising. It has since expanded to 122 BBBs throughout the U.S. and Canada. In recognition of their centennial milestone, the BBB of Minnesota and North Dakota decided to recognize local accredited businesses that have been established for 100 or more years as the Founding Businesses of the BBB Century Club.

This special group of established businesses represents a distinguished list of companies that have helped "Lighting the Way," and “shape our strong and ethical business culture, now and into the future,” according to the Century Club website (http://www.bbbis100.org/our-businesses/century-club/). Other founding businesses include: The St. Paul Pioneer Press, KPMG, LLP, and Excel Energy.
